Static Dread: The Submarine Endings
Spoiler-heavy flags. Finish one credits sequence first if you care about surprise.
Spoilers from the first heading down. Static Dread: The Submarine uses Steam achievements as a public ending map. This page translates those names into flags you can chase on a second run. It is not a copy of The Lighthouse’s seven endings and it does not use that game’s radio codes. The Ares launched 14 August 2026 as a single-player title. One watch is 3–4 hours; extra endings are extra watches.
For the ordered plot without trophy names, stay on the story walkthrough. For who to spend, use crew fates and Timmy. For a tone check, the review already warned that some finales feel abrupt.
Survival-shaped endings
- Survivors — survive until the end. This is the basic credits flag. You can get it with a thinner crew.
- Dream Team — save the whole crew. Spare where you can, refuse suicidal labor, keep Kelly, Zack, Sharon, and Michael alive, and treat Timmy as a person you still have to contain. Rarest kind ending in early global stats.
- New Beginning / New World — late mythos survival variants. Expect investigation flags (rift, city, temple) rather than a simple coast run.
If a character tells you that you cannot turn back, believe them. Several reviewers said the UI does not always telegraph a lock. Decide before the click using this list, not after.
Death-shaped endings
- Half-Life — die at the very beginning. Fail the accident on purpose if you are trophy hunting. Otherwise reload.
- Encounter with the Unknown — killed by an unknown enemy. Aggressive sonar follow-ups and late “meet the Enemy” beats feed this.
- The Last Supper — die to mutated crew. Fail a trap or spare the wrong walker.
- Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and other environmental deaths exist as named trophies; treat boat systems as lethal, not cosmetic.
Deaths are still endings in this design. They are just short ones.
Cult, bomb, and Captain flags
- Cultist — deliver the key to the temple. Investigation path. You went looking.
- Oppenheimer’s Legacy / Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb — nuclear-tool path on this boat, still not the Lighthouse keypad riddle.
- Knock Knock — reach the sealed Captain’s compartment. Information flag as much as geography.
- Traitor, Inconvenient Truth, Red Pill (dream-realm pill) — side revelations that color which credits you get rather than replacing the whole map.
- Zack of the Deep — Zack reborn in the Great Old One’s image. You spent him into radiation and mythos.
- Be reborn by the Great Old One versus Die trying to destroy the Great Old One — late confrontation pair. Bring a crew or do not.
- Find a way to the Blackfort — location ending/flag for players who kept following the wrong-right pings.
Practical second-run plans
Kind run: spare Timmy, do not force Sharon, keep Zack off fatal doses, stop Kelly if the Stop Kelly scene appears, evade the hungriest contacts, staff every urgent card. Target Dream Team + Survivors.
Mission run: shoot Timmy, ping the rift, deliver keys, love the bomb, accept corpses. Target Cultist / bomb / Enemy trophies.
Death run: fail the accident, or walk into mutated crew unarmed, or chase the unknown ping under-equipped.
Use the achievements page as a checklist. Use crew management so you do not accidentally starve a flag by leaving the roster blank. Use sonar so you do not wander into Blackfort while aiming for a coast.
Some players will finish one ending and feel the last ten minutes shrugged. That is a documented complaint, not a personal failing. A second run with a different Timmy choice still changes a lot of the middle even if the credits philosophy stays messy. For launch confusion about demo files, launch notes. For whether you should bother, reread the review after your first credits — it will sound different once you have a flag list of your own.
The Ares keeps more than one last page. It just does not label the folder in the pause menu. That is why this guide exists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many endings are there?
Steam lists multiple survival, death, cult, and mythos flags rather than a single numbered list like some Lighthouse guides.
What is Dream Team?
Save the whole crew. It is a separate flag from merely surviving until credits.
Do Lighthouse nuclear codes work?
No. Do not enter that game's radio sequence here. The Ares uses different tools and trophies.
Can I see all endings in one save?
No. Timmy shoot/spare and several labor flags conflict. Plan dedicated runs.
